Nobody But Jimny

Suzuki have also revealed the Jimny's new interior - described as straighforward, practical and down-to-earth beauty - which features a colour touchscreen console incorporating sat nav and DAB radio (as seen in the Ignis, Swift, new Swift Sport, Vitara & S-Cross) amongst other creature comforts like air-conditioning - but still suits the clean, uncomplicated character of the Jimny.

We can't be certain as to what will be under the bonnet of the new Jimny. We think it could be the same as Ignis and Swift 4x4 utilising the frugal 1.2 dualjet engine, or Suzuki may ramp up the power with the 1.0 boosterjet engine from the Baleno, Swift and S-Cross. What we do know is that Suzuki will be focusing on maintaing the Jimny as an affordable, capable off-roader; so expect this model to be no different to previous generations in terms of starting price and reliability.

Jimny DNA

Since it's launch in 1970, The Jimny has been loved by customers around the world.
The new generation Jimny carries on the heritage of a small, lightweight authentic off-roader and is a masterpiece of Suzuki 4WD technology.

1st generation (1970 - )

The first-generation Jimny made its debut as the one-and-only compact 4WD in the minicar segment. Its small but powerful performance, it earned high acclaim not only from professional users but from regular users as well.

SJ30
2nd generation (1981 - )

A solid-square shape and roomy interior, the second-generation was well received by the global market. And made the Jimny an unprecedented hit. It was popular with both genders and its sharp, stylish design suited both urban and off-road settings.

JB33
3rd generation (1998 - )

The third-generation introduced a high level of comfort with its smooth aerodynamic body, longer wheelbase and refined rigid suspension. Offering greater stability and manoeuvrability on and off-road, it stayed popular worldwide for 20 years.
